Birth and Parenting Preparation

A birth and parenting course can help parents to anticipate, understand and plan what they might do during labour, birth and as new famiilies. From the information, resources, physical skills and discussions in a group course parents are better prepared to make informed choices and feel confident about the birth and new family life they want.

A prenatal course should never tell you how you "ought" to give birth, or what you "should" do. Instead it provides a safe environment for you to learn new skills and information, review research, share ideas and ask questions and think about your forthcoming new family life.

Prenatal classes are a wonderful place to learn physical skills such as breathing, relaxation, massage, and gentle movements to make pregnancy more comfortable, labour and birth shorter, more straightforward and easier and to help with the tired days when parenting a young family.

All classes have a mixture of information, discussion and physical skills, however each have a different main focus: have a look at the different class choices: Relax, Stretch and Breathe/Yoga for Pregnancy classes, structured group classes and personal birth preparation and planning sessions to put together a programme that suits your needs.  If you are not sure what would suit you best please don't hesitate to contact me to discuss your choices.  Registration forms for different classes can be found here

You do not have to be a member of the Basel Children's Trust to join our classes, but discounts and free classes are available for BCT members

Prenatal Yoga/relax, Stretch and Breathe sessions run every Thursday evening 18.00-20.00  For more details see: Relax, Stretch and Breathe/Yoga for Pregnancy classes.
